Day 5 - 2/20/2010
Today was great we were much slower so we could regroup and actually have more time to talk to players, a lot of the players are now interested in the new technology. Jagr is all about it and is really doing well in the tournament. Everyday he is down here visiting and relaxing in the room.
Right outside of our room there is a large area where the players will play a game with a soccer ball,(its a warm up routine that they go through) the object is to not let the ball hit the floor. I thought it was kind of cool that the Czech and Belarus team were playing it together. There really is a sense of having fun, as well as great competition.
Because we have access to pretty well anywhere in the rink we get ourselves into interesting places such as the rafters high above the ice surface. It is an interesting perspective however not that effective for seeing the puck. All in all it is a pretty cool view to see all of the fans I know that this is a "behind the scene's" piece I thought this would be a great "above the scene".
The Hockey has been going very well so far it has been an incredible tournament and is lining itself up to be one of the best. All for today, thanks for reading.

This is fascinating-thanks so much for doing this.
Steve, this is your cousin John. I just discovered this blog and I think it's great! I like how the pictures show a different perspective than what is on TV. Looks like you and Murray are having a good time.
I am trying to figure out how to get the flat bottom v in Alaska now!
Keep writing, I'll keep reading
WOW! Way to go Steve!
I just read the last 4 days. You ROCK! What a great service you provide, and what a neat opportunity to connect with so many great people... and you're a natural for it. It must be nice to be in an environment where so many appreciate what you do and want to hear what you have to say. Good work... and fun. BTW, I appreciate Dave clearing up the minor spelling slip, between Baba and Bubba. It takes on a whole different tone for those of us who have not been honoured with the privilege of sharing in this obvious delicacy.
Keep up the great work Steve, and maybe a couple perogies could be diverted to Amherstburg??
Steve, is there any way to get a couple short video clips posted with your 'Flip'?
Thanks and keep up the great work.
Bob
Thanks guys. I have a ton of video and will try to make some for tomorrow's clips. Let me know what you want to see and I will see if I can get it.
Couple of quick questions re: FBV for goalies, Steve.
What cut did you put Thomas on?
I've heard that you're experimenting with a few FBV variations for goalies, including wider flats and even entirely different geometries. Anyone in the Olympics trying this out?
hey uncle Steve its Jim. sounds like a lot of fun in vancouverm wish i was there. thats good that jagr caught onto the FBV. He has strong influene on people so that migh be a bonus. Too bad Canada lost to the states and we best hope they beat germany by a good margin or we'll have some big problems. Hope all is well, travel safely.
